Sketchbook Sketches

I love doing things in my sketchbook, ultimately making a mess and hoping something semi good/interesting comes out of it!
This time I decided to do some studies of the female form, hopefully to help me when coming round to designing one of my characters. As I'm planning on creating a female protagonist.
I also decided to be brave with these studies and go straight in with a pig sharpie marker, I really love the bold clean lines I managed to achieve. Helped build my confidence, which is a great thing! I obviously used references for these studies.
Another favourite media of mine is watercolours, I'm obsessed! I feel they can bring any boring sketchbook page to life and actually make it look interesting. I'm a huge fan of using mixed media and creating texture, anything I can get my hands on I will use in my sketchbook in the hope of making it more appealing and different.

The last little study, is from one of Ashley Woods drawings which I became particularly drawn to. SO decided to give it a quick little bash of it myself.

Folling my quick female studies I decided to draw up a few shapes and try different costumes/styles out on them. In hope of kicking up some inspiration for my protagonist character!
